KLI-C 99% WSP contains pure Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) at 99% concentration. During stress periods such as
heat stress, birds are unable to produce sufficient Vitamin C. Young birds under 3 weeks also cannot
synthesise adequate amounts.
Vitamin C inhibits the high production of corticosterone hormone during heat stress, decreases potassium
losses that occur during heat stress, and helps maintain optimal acid-base balance. As a powerful antioxidant,
it blocks damage caused by free radicals, which are by-products when the body transforms food into energy.
Vitamin C makes epithelial tissues in the mouth less permeable to bacteria, helps white blood cells function
properly, contributing to immune system efficiency. It can decrease the duration and severity of cold/flu
symptoms, protects the immune system and reduces mortality in birds infected with IBD in hot environments
by protecting lymphoid organs and thyroid activity.
It is essential for collagen formation, improves eggshell quality via its role in forming the shell’s organic matrix,
accelerates wound healing, helps reduce damage to the body caused by toxic chemicals and pollutants,
enhances iron absorption, and may improve growth, egg production, hatchability, egg weight, shell quality,
and liveability during heat stress.
