\nLauric (C12). It has powerful antibacterial activity, can kill different pathogens, lowers infection pressure,
\ndecreases activity of residual pathogens, and reduces pathogen virulence.
\nIt decreases Clostridium perfringens-induced NE lesions and intestinal colonisation and invasion. It reduces
\ncolonisation of Salmonella, E. coli, and Campylobacter. It penetrates the pathogenic bacterial wall and
\ndissociates inside it, releasing H+ ions and reducing pH inside bacterial cells, leading to toxicity and cell
\ndeath.
